The simpler the better Doug. I have had success with shrimp, crab, clams, squid, and green peas. But, careful with the type of cheese. Use larger sea scallops instead of the small ones, sliced. Gar... more

It's been 180 days since Ted and I ventured into the social networking business by launching fohboh.com on January 1. 2008. I remember when I was the only blogger posting. So lonely was I that I nearly left comments for myself ;-). In just 6 months we have changed ... more

This is not so much a question as a statement. Margin improvement is obviously a good thing for business profitability and sustainability. In the current economic environment margins are taking a hit, for sure. But, there are ways to improve margin without increasi... more

An interesting thing is happening in the FohBoh community. Pride, association and connection. I see it more and more. I have been traveling quite a bit lately and meeting FohBoh members from all over the country. It's always flattering to have someone that you don... more

Managing a start up requires a lot of energy, particularly one like FohBoh, which is moving pretty fast after just 175 days. It's a bit like a puzzle really. Sorting though the various pieces of data. Moving the square edges to the side, and separating like-colors ... more

I agree with the Interactive Advertising Bureau; if you are not on a social networking site in 2008, you are not on the Internet. I view networking, be it online or in person, to be critical in forming, maintaining and growing relationships, both personal and profess... more

Just back from our first show at NRA in Chicago. There have been a few posts about this experience and what we thought of the show, which was awesome for our young, 140 day-old, growing enterprise. However, this post is about status…continuing our theme of being fa... more

While some thought it was not well attended, I thought the NRA show in Chicago was an amazing experience with crowds of people. It is truly amazing how big this show is. Over 2,500 exhibitors and over 73,000 attendees. Clearly Chicago's largest convention. We enjo... more

May 17-20, 2008. Well this was fun! Setting up the booth and gearing up for the over 73,000 that are expected to visit McCormick Place in Chicago from May 17-20th. We met a lot of FohBoh members and added quite a few new ones as well today. Attendees were generally ... more

Any close-ups of the avatar montage from the FOHBOH booth at the NRA? I thought that it looked cool from the Tortilla Guy's video.
Also, ever thought about digitizing the FOHBOH logo with all of the major restaurant apparel companies? I would proudly wear the logo on my chef coats (once I land in a new position).
